Press release: Thursday, September 28, 2017.
Smarter, maker of the world’s first connected kettle, the iKettle, is delighted to announce a new suite of Applets on the world’s ultimate automation platform, IFTTT (If This Then That). This will further enhance the user experience of Smarter’s connected devices, starting off first with the recently launched iKettle (3rd Gen).
Using the functionality of IFTTT, owning any of the following will mean you can max the use of your third-generation iKettle:
Phillips Hue smart light bulbs and the third generation iKettle: if your kettle finishes boiling, your Phillips Hue lights will toggle on and off.
BMW: if you’re lucky enough to own a BMW, you can boil the iKettle from your car using IFTTT once you arrive in the vicinity of your home.
Nest Cam: if new motion or sound is detected, your iKettle can be set to boil and cool water to the desired temperature for a formula feed.
Gmail: with a Gmail account, you can receive emails when your kettle is boiled.
Google Assistant: “Ok Google, boil my kettle please…” and off we go!
SMS: you can also receive text messages to let you know that your kettle has boiled.
