How to clean your kettle

Cleaning a kettle can be a daunting task but it doesn’t have to be. Follow our easy stress-free 4 step solution to your least favourite kitchen chore that will speed up any Spring clean.

Descaling your kettle is quick and simple because kettles are already designed to contain liquid, turning a manual cleaning task into an easy soak-and-go solution.

Keeping your appliances clean is the best way to prolong their life, in addition to keeping them sanitised for you and your family. We recommend that you clean your iKettle every couple of months to get the best use.

At Smarter we are keen to avoid harmful chemicals, so we recommend an all-natural kettle cleaning method, give the below method a try and let us how you got on:

  1. Fill the kettle with an equal part of water and household vinegar*.
  2. Soak for one hour.
  3. After one hour, boil the kettle to 100º.
  4. Then, empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly.

*If you don't have any vinegar to hand, try lemon juice! It not only does the same job as vinegar, but it also leaves the kettle smelling fresh.

Complete your clean by wiping down the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth.
